Amazon is looking for an exceptional HR leader to drive the development and implementation of the HR Strategy in support of our AWS Public Sector business in countries in Asia Pacific (Singapore, ASEAN, Australia & New Zealand, Korea, India) and Japan and lead cross region projects for the Amazon Web Services team in APJC.
The Sr Manager, HR Leader will lead team of HR professionals to partner with the senior management team in the AWS Public Sector organization to drive results, increasing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The leader will work to implement annual HR programs such as performance reviews, promotions, succession planning, and action plans resulting from employee and manager feedback. You and your team will partner with your clients throughout the planning and execution for these programs, tying them back to the business strategy. You will also work to improve organizational design and structure, provide change leadership and management coaching, as well as design and deliver management training. You will lead and participate in cross group and company-wide projects such as creation of new job families and career paths for the Public Sector organization. The Sr Manager will also be responsible to coordinate and drive cross region initiatives including metrics and measures and diversity.

The individual in this role must be able to work well with peers in influencing implementation and interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization, across the region and global. Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of HR professionals to drive the development and implementation of HR strategy for AWS Public Sector business in Asia Pacific (Singapore, ASEAN, Australia & New Zealand, Korea, India) and Japan.
Lead and drive cross region projects and initiatives including inclusion & diversity.
Work with senior management and the HR team to develop and implement HR plans and solutions.
Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
Provide management coaching to senior leaders.
Assess business unit's HR training needs and work with peers in addressing this
Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience and recommend systemic improvements.
Partner with the business to lead annual and mid-year review processes which focus on performance management and talent development.
Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.
Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group.
Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in an HR generalist leadership role, preferably in a high tech environment
5+ years experience working with global teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
Pan Asia, Cross-region experience is required
Experience partnering with business leaders in highly complex and dynamic business setting is required
People management experience of leading teams will be required.
Able to travel, as appropriate.
Demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem solving.
Depth of pragmatic experience with compensation planning, negotiation, and implementation.
An ability and desire to own a space, provide thought leadership, and catalyze results.
Strong judgment and employee relations experience.
Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, learning, and performance management.
Work experience in the tech industry, or if not, successful tenure at two different industries.
Deep understanding of "what great HR looks like" and how business cycles influence the people agenda.
Excellent business acumen and an ability to understand a P&L.
