Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Drives market leading reward management and related HR policy strategies within the business to attract, motivate and develop the best employees and to enhance overall business performance; Develops and maintains an annual plan on performance management initiatives leading and engaging all country stakeholders
  • Reviews, formulates and designs proposals for reward and benefits policies, pay reviews, performance related incentives and programs
  • Examines reward policies and procedures to achieve internal equity, consistency, transparency and cost effectiveness in retaining and motivating employees
  • Interprets and influences all compensation and benefits practices relating to expatriates, and understands employee relations impacts
  • Continues to enable underperformance management within the context of the country ER environment
  • To manage and support the Board and sub-committee of all subsidiaries on remuneration matters.
  • To prepare and coordinate regulatory responses on remuneration matters for disclosure and submission
  • To provide SME support to the business on the Individual Accountability and Conduct Guidance issued by MAS
  • Works closely with the businesses to understand their needs in order to plan and develop remuneration strategies to meet business objectives
  • Acts as change agent in driving the implementation of new remuneration initiatives, and guides stakeholders through significant change management via reward; for example: improvement of variable bonus plans, reviewing pay mix to reinforce meritocracy and navigating the external regulatory environment; Ensures a support model is in place for PM activities
  • Act as the escalation point for all performance & reward policy enquiries for senior stakeholders, providing thought leadership such that HSBC maintains consistent standards
  • Enhances the countrys understanding on performance & reward framework and policies, sustains and strengthens capability within country through education (learning and communications) and coaching, and ensures countries regularly assess the effectiveness and competitiveness of their existing remuneration strategy
  • Requirements

  • A bachelor degree in an HR related discipline
  • Strong HR experience with a major multinational company
  • Possesses advanced knowledge in Compensation & Benefits with a strong numerate background
  • Demonstrates expertise in compensation models, policy development, analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with the Employment Ordinance and relevant laws, and the scope of application
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and the ability to speak is desirable
