We are now looking for an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our office in Singapore at RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST). You will be operating in a broad HR Generalist position in a highly visible role, working as part of a small and close-knit team to support business leaders across Asia with all HR and people related matters. Reporting into the Global Head of HR in Europe, you will be the regional key point of contact for the business in our offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, Jakarta and Mumbai, having the right focus and entrepreneurial mindset in order to operate with the business by sharing knowledge, understanding their needs, linking it and helping leaders transform. You will closely align with the other global HR teams Compensation & Benefits, People & Organisational Development and Talent Attraction to ensure close alignment in terms of business goals whilst also building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proactively encourage and support the regional management in developing and implementing a dynamic HR strategy including training and development, succession planning, compensation modelling, talent acquisition, retention and restructuring.
  • Partner with business stakeholders in our commercial and business support units on all aspects of HR to ensure HR genuinely adds value, thus providing HR policy expertise, consultancy and guidance on any employee-related operational HR issues in all countries we operate (Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, China, India).
  • Build and manage trustful working relationships with key stakeholders and business clients at all level, and understand their needs and expectations
  • Proactively define, drive and deliver HR processes at the clients side
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relation issues and HR projects cross-functionally
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Ensure operational excellence and outstanding customer focus at all times
  • Actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes necessary to cover risks
  • Act as the performance improvement driver and provoke positive changes in the people management
  • Provide guidance and input on business organizational structure
  • Provide consultancy on people and leadership development in close collaboration with internal team of experts
  • Partner closely with other HRBPs and internal HR teams on global strategy and execution

  • Academic background in a HR-related field (Economics, Business Administration, Psychology or equivalent) with a strong HR/people management focus, with Asia exposure is preferred
  • Extensive experience within a generalist HR Business Partner role in a broad business facing, strategic and operational position, ideally in a fast paced, delivery focused commercial environment on an international level
  • Thorough understanding of the labour markets in the relevant countries
  • A good network of and connectivity into HR service providers and recruiters in the relevant countries and expertise in use of social media in recruitment and talent attraction topics
  • A genuine interest in people
  • Strong knowledge in employment laws and employee relations in Asia Pacific Region
  • Strong level of self-drive and pragmatic can do attitude as well as ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at varied levels spread across the region
  • Good analysis and decision-making skills, deliver solution to meet customer needs
  • Enthusiastic team player with excellent consultative and interpersonal skills as well as intercultural competence
  • Desire to continuously improve and challenge the status quo
  • Strong growth mindset and self-exposure to Asia and global connects
  • Fluent in business English and in Mandarin. Additionally knowledge of Japanese would be an advantage
