Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China (APJC) People Experience & Technology (PXT, elsewhere known as HR) as a Senior Business Operations Manager. The individual will be an integral part of the PXT Project Management Team and will report to the APJC PXT Principal Program Manager, based in Singapore. The Senior Business Operations Manager will be charged with driving operational excellence across the APJC PXT organization. This impactful position requires superior analytical strength, attention to detail, open communication and the ability to work autonomously on assigned projects, which will contribute to the long-term success of a quickly-growing team. The person in this role will partner with HR leadership and a wide array of Amazon stakeholders to manage stakeholder communication, team metrics, and our team calendar of significant milestones. The role demands a strong sense of urgency and the ability to make sound judgement. The individual will need to effectively work with the HR leaders, global partners, business ops/finance and our central programs/operations/tech teams. As a strategist and implementer, the successful candidate will ensure streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the leadership team. They will also handle day-to-day management of trends and data.
This role is preferred to be located in Singapore but can also be based anywhere in APJC.
Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with partner teams to ensure alignment on key projects and initiatives.
  • Proactively seek out ways to simplify processes and look for opportunity to leverage technology to scale.
  • In partnership with the leadership team, drive and manage the rhythm of the business cycle including goal setting, operational planning processes, talent processes and calendar and regular business reviews.
  • Manage the operational, metrics and data needs for the business and PXT leadership team.
  • Use their strong analytical skills to build reporting, tell the story around the data, and provide actionable insights to drive path to green.
  • Project manage critical initiatives (such as regional expansion) across regional stakeholders at all levels, including the change management to ensure the initiative lands in each region.
  • Communicate across regional and global stakeholders at all levels and be able to know the business well enough (with the data to back it up) to represent AWS APJC PXT leadership in business meetings.
  • Work on ad hoc HR projects that will come up on an as needed basis.

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years of administrative, program management, project management, or project coordination experience
  • 5+ years of experience driving key, enterprise-wide projects or programs
  • Experience analyzing small datasets in Excel and producing business insights
  • Experience organizing complex projects into achievable tasks and driving on-time completion
  • Experience building business facing documentation and/or training materials
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Experience operating in HR organizations
  • Knowledge of SQL and AWS tech stack
