Roles & Responsibilities

The aim of the global Business Process Optimization (BPO) is to optimize the value flow along globally streamlined end-to-end transactional HR processes. The BPO is key in driving, shaping and enforcing the end to end HR process flows within DHL Supply Chain. The BPO work includes improving process quality, fulfilling the customer's expectations and reducing process cost; further benefits include reduced and more predictable audit fees and effort and enhanced security controls.

The HR BPO department is structured along process towers and supporting roles. Process towers are responsible for owning end-to-end processes, collection, assessment, documentation and standardization of existing processes. In addition the process towers will be responsible for implementing newly or amended standardized processes and continuously checking compliance and performance for improvements in collaboration with supporting roles.

The Global Work Time and Pay Process Tower Senior Expert is responsible for designing and developing medium-high complexity processes globally, managing the process towers activities and also accountable for developing and coaching team members.

What is your day to day role?

  • Interact with stakeholders of the regional/country HR organizations and BPO peer group; provide feedback on process-related content topics and questions of medium to high complexity regarding the Work Time and Pay process and develop solutions fitting the customer's needs
  • Align all proposed process changes with affected middle management stakeholders (e.g. regional representatives)
  • Articulate need for global process design and convince middle management stakeholders of required change
  • Ensure engagement from the BPO country/regional extensions
  • Define process to be reviewed and captured by global BPO
  • Identify, collect, and perform process improvements based on global standards, process execution performance, and operational observations from reviewing: business requirements, change request and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assess cost/benefit of potential process improvements
  • Make recommendations on changes
  • Represent global BPO in the defined change alignment process (involving middle management stakeholders) for all changes related to Work Time and Pay process
  • What experience do we require?

  • In-depth HR or business experience
  • in-depth experience in HR, process improvement/management and/or project management
  • Good understanding of transactional HR processes and the Work Time and Pay process in particular
  • Advanced ability to analyze Work Time and Pay business processes and provide recommendation for optimizing them
  • Good general business and operational management experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced functional / technical knowledge of global and regional HR, Time and Attendance, and Payroll systems (ideally Oracle R12, Kronos, and SAP or PeopleSoft Payroll)
  • Intermediate to Advanced functional / technical knowledge of Payroll integration to Financial (General Ledger) systems
