WeWork's Senior Director of Talent Acquisition (TA) will lead the talent acquisition team dedicated to making WeWork the employer of choice in the market. This leader will create and lead the delivery of an unparalleled candidate and hiring experience for prospective team members, both external and internal. Attracting top talent to join WeWork, this leader will be a key contributor to the explosive growth trajectory as WeWork fulfills their mission to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.
The Senior Director, TA will also lead a growing talent acquisition team. Due to extreme growth, the projections to double the employee base requires a leader with strategic and tactical expertise in scaling. This leader must create a talent acquisition practice that supports executives and managers by building an integrated talent partnership model that enables extreme global growth. The ideal candidate understands The Future of Work that aligns with WeWork's mission.
Key Success Metrics
The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the talent acquisition structure and processes, growing the capabilities of the talent acquisition team, building a unique employment brand and an engaging candidate experience; and being a true advisor to business leaders.
Partnering with the Business:
  • In conjunction with other members of the Talent and People Leadership team, be a trusted advisor to internal leaders bringing clarity to organizational design, compensation structure and role design needs. Determine workforce planning strategies, leveraging data to determine both short and long-term recruiting plans
  • Coach senior business leaders on effective interviewing strategies and value of in-house and search firm capabilities.
  • Leading Executive and Corporate recruitment efforts for the region and supporting TA efforts across all functions (Community, Operations, Design, Development, Real Estate, Finance, Marketing and Sales).

Continuing to build a world-class talent acquisition team:
  • Develop cross-territory, high performing talent acquisition professionals through mentorship and coaching. Develop entire team to engage as thought leaders in talent acquisition.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the talent acquisition team, as well as broadly within the organization to ensure that WeWork's West recruiting is highly effective and valued.
  • Scale the talent acquisition team, ensuring they have the right resource allocation and ratio of talent partners and associates with the business.

Scaling WeWork's Delivery Processes & Metrics Dashboard:
  • Design the team and structures that produce the foundation of processes, analytics and dashboards that will enable scaling and innovation in partnership with People Leadership Team and TA Operations.
  • Develop best-in-class talent acquisition strategies, methods, referrals, direct sourcing and social media strategy in partnership with People Team, TA Operations and Branding teams.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of leading edge recruiting tools and processes for sourcing, assessment and onboarding.
  • Build robust talent pipelines that tap into targeted universities, companies, regions and technical communities.
  • Maintain and communicate TA Effectiveness metric tool, track hiring goals vs actual hires and report to leaders in timely fashion.

Share WeWork's Employee Value Proposition with the market, disseminate localized messages as needed partnership with the Talent Attraction and talent leadership teams:
  • Help tell the story of working at WeWork, incorporating WeWork's Employee Value Proposition into their recruiting processes, language, tools, events and social media strategies
  • Create and execute strategy for becoming the Future of Work employer
  • Build robust talent pipelines that tap into targeted universities, companies, regions and domain expert communities
  • Create an exceptional candidate experience that represents WeWork's employee experience

The Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required. MBA or applicable graduate degree highly desirable.
  • Talent acquisition experience in consumer-facing or consumer service industry with expertise in hospitality, retail or high-volume professional services.
  • 10 plus years of professional experience that includes:
    • 5 years leading talent acquisition at a search firm or a fast growing business
    • 5 years of experience leading a team
