Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager, Human Resources [LKCMedicine]

This role is responsible for planning and executing the implementation of HR initiatives and targets to help achieve the goals of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine). It includes dealing with associated operational issues and coordinating activities related to specific objectives of LKCMedicine. The Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager (HR) contributes to the enhancements of the LKCMedicines HR programmes and practices by incorporating the feedback and requirements from stakeholders.

The incumbent will also be involved in managing the day-to-day HR operations in LKCMedicine which include manpower planning, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, learning and development and talent management. The incumbent will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment to provide support in the mentioned areas of HR duties. He/She will also assist in any other HR related projects.

The role has a primary reporting line into the Office of Human Resources and a secondary reporting line into LKCMedicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationship as a trusted HR advisor to senior stakeholders and managers in LKCMedicine.
  • Provide professional advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment and rewards strategies, performance management, etc.
  • Work with HRBP and HR Centre of Excellence in the delivery of key HR projects such as policy and process reviews, employee engagement surveys, people development programs, change management plans, People Strategy, key talent management processes and promotion exercises etc.
  • Provide work coverage for HRBP as necessary.
  • Establish clear understanding of the recruitment needs for the School/Department, and work closely with the Shared Services and hiring managers to hire the appropriate talent on a timely basis.
  • Manage all activities in relation to recruitment, appointment/reappointment and induction for management and support (MSO) and/or research staff.
  • Initiate improvements to internal HR processes, systems and communications towards enhancing service experiences.
  • Provide advice to employees and manage the activities pertaining to industrial relations, employee grievances, conduct and discipline.
  • Support other HR functions, including manpower budgeting, HR Management Information System, HR analytics, metrics and reporting.
  • Key Requirements:

  • Degree, preferably with specialisation in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 3 years of HR-related experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.) and HR systems, ideally in Workday.
  • Experience in project management and implementation.
  • Good knowledge of Employment Act and Labor Laws would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix structure and in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively within the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion, while building trust and upholding confidentiality.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, follow-up and organisational skills.
  • Well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and drive projects to completion.
  • This is a 3-years contract appointment.
