Job Description


The Asia Regional Coverage role will support the Company divisions within Morgan Stanley which includes Finance, Internal Audit, Legal & Compliance, Risk Management, Corporate Communications, Business Continuity Management and Firm Management.

The role works closely with respective businesses and global/country HR counterparts to drive the firms people agenda supporting the Senior Coverage officer. This includes interfacing with internal members of Human Resources in every product area in the division as well as BU managers and employees at all levels of the organization.

Its a unique opportunity to become part of a team of strategic Human Resource professionals dedicated to serving our clients in all aspects of their day-to-day needs. The role includes acting as a primary HR contact on areas including employee relations, career/talent development, diversity initiatives and Year-End processes. Communication, relationship building, teamwork, attention to detail and execution skills will be key factors for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Actively working with business leaders, employees and global and country HR colleagues to support the day-to-day needs of the client groups including:

Workforce Planning

  • Partner with the business to understand resource requirements and assist with headcount planning and required metrics
  • Guide the business on mobility and flexible work arrangements
  • Partner closely with Campus Recruiting Team on all campus hires (interns and full-time analysts) and Lateral Recruiting Team on all full-time hires
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback and interpret/respond to feedback

Employee Relations

  • Collaborate with the business, employee relations, legal, and compliance (as appropriate) to interpret and apply Morgan Stanley policies and procedures
  • Advise and coach managers across a wide range of employee relations issues taking into account best practice, legislative framework and commercial outcome
  • Influence and partner with managers to effectively and appropriately manage a range of performance issues

Talent Management

  • Monitor and support managers through the annual Performance Evaluation process
  • Work proactively with managers to identify and develop top talent and successors to critical roles
  • Work with Talent Partners as required to ensure appropriate training is delivered to managers and employees
  • Drive and reinforce the companys Diversity & Inclusion agenda
  • Execute Annual Talent Rankings and ensure diligence is completed with respect to the Firms Talent distribution metrics

Reward and Compensation

  • Stay abreast of market developments to ensure ability to proactively provide business with valuable market insight
  • Advise managers on appropriate compensation levels for all employees
  • Work collaboratively with managers, data team and HR counterparts throughout the annual Year End compensation processes and promotion exercises
  • Own completion of monthly audits, in order to ensure accurate and reliable data, giving guidance as necessary.
  • Lead and implement Annual Promotion process with the facilitation and execution of promotion materials and committee meetings


  • Drive or support any other initiatives that progress the people agenda
  • Participate in or lend expertise to ad hoc HR projects


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • University degree and 5-7 years of Human Resources generalist experience
  • Self-starter, confident, and articulate; able to work independently whilst operating with a one team mentality
  • Strong client focus with outstanding judgment and ability to effectively communicate across different audiences
  • Analytical and influential with strong attention to detail and excellent prioritization skills
  • Ability to develop effective and productive working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Thrives in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Resilient when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
