Recruitment/Engagement Manager in the Health Screening Centre

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a full-time Participant Recruitment/Engagement Manager to attract and retain participants for the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study. This study is undertaken jointly by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London (). It aims to profile the health and behaviour of people from the general Singapore population. The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our recruitment team to allow the study to reach out to more people.

The participant recruitment/engagement manager will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

  • Collaborate with our healthcare partners, public and private organizations to develop strategies to allow their staff to participate in HELIOS study.

  • Demonstrate strong participant engagement through being accessible and transparent to participants on the studys requirements so that they can make an informed and voluntary decision to participate in the study, maintain a fair and reciprocal relationship with participants, make efforts to retain interest of the study in participants and address their queries and concerns effectively.

  • Lead the social media development strategy and provide continuous updates on the study progress, recruitment progress via social media, as well as to other media channels and stakeholders.

  • Lead and participate in presentations to inform stakeholders on progress of recruitment and rationale of recruitment strategy.

  • Conduct participant engagement focus groups to refine recruitment strategies to increase studys participation rate and engagement of participants to facilitate study recall when necessary.

  • Lead a team of 1-2 recruitment executives who will manage and monitor participant registrations, appointments and answer to enquiries received on the HELIOS hotline.

  • Must demonstrate a strong leadership as well as a good team player.

  • Candidates should have:

  • Passion in serving the community, promoting public health and research with a collegial personality.

  • Basic degree in biomedical sciences, business management and marketing, communication or social sciences.

  • More than 5 years in managerial positions in marketing, corporate communication, research participant recruitment and/or membership drive roles.

  • More than 3 years of experience in leading a team of junior executives

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Language skills or other relevant experience to support working with minority ethnic group are highly desirable.

  • Understanding of research study design strategies and familiarity with requirements of the institutional ethics committee would be an advantage.
