Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM). We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

The Human Resources Manager is mainly responsible for driving the harmonization and integration processes between various sites within Asia Pacific whilst providing support in the area of global mobility related to expatriates, global immigration, compliance, and global relocations.


  • Monitoring and managing departmental practices to ensure compliance with local labor laws, corporate social responsibility principles and the company group policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all requirements, both legal, policy and company values

  • Be the change agent. Lead knowledge transfer of HR best practices and continuous improvement projects within Asia Pacific

  • Provide individual and organizational coaching and consulting to management in order to improve leadership competencies, organizational effectiveness and the leaders impact on the companys success

  • Provide training and counseling on the performance management process

  • Partner with operations leaders and local HR teams to develop and implement HR plans to drive employee development and continued company growth.

  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation and organizational development

  • Collaborate with cross functional HR team to champion a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results

  • Collaborate with external immigration consultant to research global immigration inquiries and engage in global immigration opportunities to understand risk and maintain compliance standards.

  • Own the processing and timelines of all visa petitions and international work permits. Liaise with immigration counsel, employees and partner champions to develop, implement and communicate immigration filing strategies for individual cases.

  • Stay up-to-date on foreign national employees' job changes (locations, duties, compensation changes, terminations) to ensure nonimmigrant work status is in compliance.

  • Manage international assignment letters of employment, transfer and extension as well as repatriation.

  • Build and communicate relocation packages with expatriate employees and serve as primary contact for all pre-departure, post-arrival, assignment counseling and related services/questions.

  • Coordinate with external relocation service providers, where appropriate, to ensure outstanding service and seamless relocation of employees and partners.

  • Track relocation package disbursement and ensure tax compliance, in partnership with Payroll and Accounting.


  • Bachelors degree in HR related discipline; MBA or Masters degree is a plus

  • At least 10 years experience in HR and Learning and Development with proven track record of human resources management and preferably within global high technology/manufacturing company

  • 3+ years of proven experience with corporate business immigration and/or global mobility.

  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced global environment, managing multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to influence and develop respect, work flexibly and achieve results within a matrix environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and any other languages; project management and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, managerial and coaching skills. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  • Knowledge of pertinent employment law, policies and procedures, benefit management, government regulations, compensation and performance management

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications must be administratively self-supported. Knowledge of HRIS systems

  • Must actively pursue knowledge of business practices, policies, organization structure; roles and responsibilities to better understand the business
