Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, develop and support managers and team members with a variety of employee issues
  • Oversee, support and act as an escalation point for matters related to recruitment, on-boarding, Graduate Recruitment, Trainee Programme, CPD, Law Society and HR system management (WorkDay), being hands-on as needed
  • Manage HR budget
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyse data and proactively drive action planning
  • Proactively work with partners to identify talent and ensure robust development plans are in place
  • Manage annual employee processes including salary review and bonus processes
  • Manage annual pathways processes including driving a culture change of direct feedback conversations
  • Oversee lawyer and manager secondment arrangements
  • Support development processes and conversations for lawyers and managers
  • Proactively drive and support employee engagement initiatives, including the regular engagement forum and take the lead on key initiatives that drive a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Engage fully with the firms citizenship agenda and wellbeing agenda

Skills and Experience

  • Degree holder or equivalent with at least 7 years working experience in a professional services or corporate environment, ideally experience working in a law firm
  • Previous team management experience required
  • Confidence to advise and influence senior internal stakeholders on employee matters
  • Experience managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle
  • An organised and thorough approach to work with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluent written and spoken English. Chinese language capability is desirable
  • Ability to work across teams and cultures both face to face and virtually
  • Working efficiency in MS Office such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
