Our client who are in the financial service space and are looking for their first HR professional to join the business. This is a newly created role. With two offices in Asia Currently Singapore and Hong Kong with 2 other offices coming soon. Will report to the SVP HR & SVP Global Talent based in the US. Closely working with the Head of Asia. This is a Stand-alone role and requires to be very hands on with not so much support at the beginning. Must have a start-up mindset and able to drive this for the business.

The client is seeking an experienced HR generalist to manage the Asia expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of large-scale growth objectives as they expand the companys workforce in Asia (currently Hong Kong and Singapore) and further enhance the global HR function. You will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee experience and engagement, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations and total rewards. You will be the first point of contact for both candidates and employees and will play a critical role in helping to establish the brand in Asia. This role will seek to deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience and will be a trusted partner to the stakeholders.

Looking for someone who is comfortable working globally, passionate about HR, able to cut through the noise to clearly align HR processes with business objectives and is empathic and connects easily with other people. This role must support macro-level company objectives while balancing the management of day-to-day priorities. The right candidate will understand the inherent friction between satellite offices and the home office and will have the right mix of persuasiveness and political savvy to manage to positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and coach managers, as required, on HR issues such as performance, disciplinary matters, leave, etc., and provide the necessary support to ensure the issues are managed in line with company policy, best practice, and current legislation.
  • Coordinate immigration matters with immigration counsel and HR.
  • Responsible for compliance with in-country legislation pertaining to APAC employment matters; partnering with legal counsel where appropriate.
  • Manage and execute all general HR administration, internal communications, and events locally.
  • Oversee talent acquisition logistics, including developing recruiting plans with stakeholders, selecting and managing recruitment agencies, sourcing and interviewing, interview scheduling, making offer decisions.
  • Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in Human Resources as a generalist; specialist HR knowledge such as talent acquisition, total reward and/or employee relations is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of APAC labour law and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory hiring practices in Singapore and Hong Kong (knowledge of other countries a plus)
  • Solid connections with talent across the Technology, Finance, and/or Fintech spaces
  • Knowledgeable in building talent acquisition infrastructure within a hyper-growth organization to support scale
  • Hands-on mentality and the desire to constantly learn and grow
  • Experience working for a global company as well as a growth organization demonstrating adaptability and change management skills
  • Proven ability in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities that require strong organizational and execution skills as well as decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills across all levels and an understanding of when to raise issues

  • Experience with end-to-end management of employee data and ensuring data integrity across HRIS systems and manual spreadsheets

  • Advanced knowledge of applicant tracking systems, compensation planning systems, and MS office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
