Carta expanded to Asia in 2021, and we are building a world-class team to support the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific. Our Asia team is lean and agile, comprised of both local venture industry experts and Cartans from other international offices.

The Team Youll Work With

Carta is seeking its first flexible and strategic HR Manager in the APAC region who will act as a consultant to the local teams, develop and execute HR strategies, be an advocate for employees in the region, and build programs that drive organizational and people effectiveness. As the first HR hire in the APAC market, you will work with employees and leaders in Australia, India & Singapore. You will also be part of a highly dynamic and diverse HR team with colleagues located in the US, Canada, and Brazil!

You will focus on executing people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, working with local business leaders to establish, drive, and constantly evolve a people strategy that is connected with the rest of Carta, while also tailoring programs for the local workforce.

The HR Manager role at Carta builds strong partnerships with the business, consistently seeks opportunities to problem solve, provides strategic and operational support to the leaders and functions you support and acts as a local expert in employment law for the region.

The Problems Youll Solve

  • Provide professional counsel (not HR best practices for HR sake) to the local business leaders and help set the People priorities for the region
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of local legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Drive the regions People strategy to meet business objectives
  • Partner with the business leaders to roll out key People initiatives (performance management, compensation, benefits, development programs, etc)
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning, compensation, promotions, lateral transfers, re-leveling, benchmarking, etc
  • Act as an employee champion and change agent, proactively communicating needs with our HR department and business management
  • Successfully influence others by providing direction, knowledge, and support to create a high-performing organization
  • Mentor and coach managers
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Build strong relationships with employees, management, and leadership team
  • About You

  • Experience working in a fast-paced global company
  • Technology company experience preferred
  • 6+ years of HR experience
  • Successfully coached and influenced individual contributors and managers in a prior role
  • Outstanding people skills high degree of empathy and a great communicator
  • Great organizational skills, high attention to detail, and an ability to complete competing priorities quickly
  • Ability to interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization
  • Must maintain confidentiality and use outstanding judgment on a daily basis
  • A passion for understanding the business goals, finding solutions, and improving processes
