Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary

The Divisional Director, HR will play a key role for Singapore/the APAC region, with both an operational and strategic focus, combining commercial and HR expertise to support the business agenda.

You will have strong business partnering skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide high-quality advice and guidance on all HR related matters.

What you will be doing

  • Accountable for the execution excellence of HR activity across Singapore/the APAC region.
  • Responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of the full spectrum of HR in areas including but not limited to core processes (with support from Group HR), recruitment, performance management, learning and talent development, employee engagement, employee relations, internal communications and compensation & benefits.
  • Engage and proactively partner with managers in understanding their business needs and provide high-quality guidance, strategic advice, and support in developing and progressing people management solutions that drive quality, continuous improvement, and high performance, to support delivery of business goals.
  • Coach, guide, advise, and support (and challenge where needed) managers in the HR implications of business plans and all aspects of people management and leadership.
  • Facilitate effective communication between leaders and their teams.
  • Work with line managers to enhance performance management, providing guidance, advice and training to managers on improving performance at all levels and proactively address performance issues where relevant.
  • Identify and implement appropriate learning and development needs.
  • Provide guidance and act as the point of escalation on HR or employee relations issues, conduct investigations or informally manage complaints and concerns as appropriate.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide strategic staffing and recruitment solutions and interview as required.
  • Implement entry level talent programmes in line with group strategy and ensure all government schemes and incentives are investigated and utilised where appropriate.
  • Work in close partnership with all Human Resources colleagues globally to ensure alignment, coordination in project/ policy development and the enhancement of information provision and services to employees.
  • Champion the companys desired leadership behaviours, values, and diversity and inclusions aspirations and support the company culture.
  • What we are looking for

    Experience & Knowledge

  • Commercial HR generalist experience across all areas of HR as set out above.
  • Strong HR Business Partnering skills and HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, project management and leadership abilities.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations across APAC, and ideally experience of multi-country responsibility in the region.
  • Strong communicator, able to effectively engage with multiple and diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through challenging / complex / difficult issues.
  • Able to exercise upmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with high attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to work calmly in high pressure situations, and consistently deliver in a fast-paced, time- sensitive environment.
  • Able to work with ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive and results driven.
  • Analytical, detail oriented and adept at working with data and metrics.
  • Understanding of the cultural landscape in Asian Markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (excel, word, powerpoint, outlook) and HRIS systems.
  • HR or Legal qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Fluency in English. Mandarin desirable.
