HR and M&A Advisory - Senior Associate (Manager or Senior Manager level position)

The M&A Advisory Services Team

The M&A Advisory Services team works with Corporate and Private Equity clients on all types of M&A transactions (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, JVs, etc.) and provides advisory support on people-related risks across the entire deal life cycle from pre-deal (i.e. HR due diligence) to post-deal (i.e. post-merger integration). He/she will be required to work M&A team members and other Lines of Business (LOB) at Mercer across geographies to deliver project work and carry out business development activities.

What's in it for you?

Majority of the persons time will be spent working on large domestic or multi-country projects in the areas of HR and Culture Due Diligence, Leadership Assessment

Integration Planning (do-by-close) and Post-Merger Integration (Workforce And Rewards Harmonization, Culture Integration And Alignment, Organizational Redesign, Change Management And Employee Communications, etc.). Under the direction of a strong team and manager, you will be involved in working on Global, Regional and Local M&A related projects ranging across the entire deal cycle with a focus on people advisory.

We will count on you to:

  • Work directly with client executives, manage / support the engagement through all stages, including planning, execution, and closure.
  • Lead a team of consultants and business analysts of medium to high complexity M&A projects and overseeing their work to support the successful delivery of country/regional/global projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Collaborating and working with colleagues across different Lines of Business and Geographies at Pre and Post Deal stages to attain desired M&A Strategy, Risk and People outcomes
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Supporting business development efforts and acting as a relationship manager for select clients to identify growth opportunities across Mercers suite of solutions beyond M&A advisory
  • Support business development activities to deliver the firm (i.e. sell Mercers service offerings, across Lines of Business).
  • What you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree / MBA / Masters Degree
  • 7-10 years in either HR/MR / Organisational Transformation
  • Previous experience in M&A Advisory, organization design, organization transformation, HR strategy, work-force optimization / organizational de-layering, governance design, executive and broad-based rewards and employee benefits
  • Proven ability to manage projects and / or large project modules including successful deployment and delivery of personal expertise and that of other project team members to ensure excellent, on-time delivery to client specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong ability to build successful business relationships with clients and colleagues that enhance operations and profitable revenues
  • Analytical capabilities able to create and work with excel models
  • Solid organizational and IT skills, particularly MS Office suite
  • A logical and structured thinker, with strong synthesis skills to deliver insights and conclusions
