Job Summary:

The Assistant HR Director shall be responsible for providing guidance and support for the accomplishment of Hotels and individual departments goals and objectives by recruiting, developing, motivating and maintaining a competent work force.

Contracting and Onboarding

  • Prepare and ensure all new colleagues are warmly welcomed to Shangri-La Family

Colleagues Engagement

  • Conduct Colleagues Engagement survey and work with respective division heads to implement initiatives to enhance colleagues engagement

Staff Welfare

  • Maintains and enhances the staff welfare to ensure high morale amongst staff members

Staff Recognition, Motivational and Incentive Schemes

  • Implement staff motivation, recognition and incentive programmed for the Hotel
  • Administers the following schemes:

Communication

  • Maintains effective internal communication with Department heads, supervisors and all employees
  • Represents management in fostering beneficial communication with relevant external bodies

Medical and Insurance Benefits Administration

  • Administer all matters related to medical and insurance

Industrial Relations

  • Foster and enhances harmonious employee relations to increase efficiency and to boost staff morale.
  • Tours every department at least once a week
  • Counsels employees on a job-related issues and where necessary of a personal nature
  • Handle employee grievances and work with Division Heads on related issues
  • Conducts exit interviews for feedback for improvement.

Performance Appraisal

  • Co-ordinates the annual employee appraisal for process owners and management staff
  • communication of PDR goals for all staff

Expatriate Relocations and Accommodation Administration

  • Assist expatriate colleagues in their onboarding and departures procedures
  • Assist expatriate in sourcing for their accommodation.

Meeting

  • Attends the following meetings:
  • Morning briefing conducted daily in the absence of the Area Director of Human Resources
  • Managers Meeting conducted monthly

Administration

  • Formulates and administer the human resources policy and procedures within the Hotel
  • Prepare budget for Capex, administrative, training, employee relations, welfare, staff development and enhancement of staff morale

Filing & Record Keeping

  • Supervises the proper maintenance of all employees files below the rank of Division Heads
  • To maintain up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system
  • Monitors all leave records of all employees to ensure that all leavers are promptly cleared.

  • Environmental Awareness

  • Carries out other special projects/tasks assigned by supervisors
