About this role

As the Human Resources (HR) Assistant Director, you will be a partner to the senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and activities to build a design-led culture, grow high performing teams and create a great place to work. You will need to work closely with the teams you support and be responsible for HR programmes such as recruitment, compensation, performance reviews, learning and career development. You will advise on organisational design and structure, as well as provide change leadership. You will also partner with other HR teams in EDB to ensure relevance of programmes and initiatives and optimal organisation alignment.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with hiring managers and Division Directors to support their talent needs, foster growth, and build inspired and engaged teams to achieve Dsgs objectives
  • Overseeing the recruitment process for positions from the line divisions; from sourcing, qualifying, interviewing through to negotiation of offers, to fill open requisitions in a timely fashion
  • Advising and giving guidance to line managers and employees on all performance related issues, including talent decisions, succession planning, bonus management and performance improvement
  • Managing and executing corporate compensation and benefits programmes
  • Tracking and reporting staffing, retention, attrition and other necessary data to line management; and recommending programmes and/or enhancements if necessary
  • Identifying training/development needs to provide appropriate development opportunities to the divisions
  • Managing and resolving employee relation issues
  • Improving organisational effectiveness and creating positive change while adhering to Dsgs culture and values
  • Aligning behaviour with the organisations strategy, structures, processes and business objectives and helping to promote the organisations values throughout the workplace
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resource, Organisation Psychology, Marketing or related
  • At least 8 years of HR business partnering or related experience, with experience in leading and managing a team
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies
  • Passionate in making a difference and in playing a role in organisation transformation
  • Strong independent worker; able to deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently
  • Results oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Highly analytical with a demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Compassionate but realistic with ability and experience in engaging and managing stakeholders across all levels of seniority internally and externally
