Please share with us briefly what you do.

I am the CEO of FlowTrack. At FlowTrack, we help businesses to optimize employee productivity by reducing disengagement and distraction during business hours. FlowTrack provides insights for managers and leaders to engage with their team and support them in real-time proactively. We are on a mission to become a leader in South East Asia and the Indian market in the productivity monitoring space.


What were you doing before this?

Before launching FlowTrack, I was working with IBM and NTT Data as a Lead Solution Architect. As an IT Architect, I was helping enterprises optimize their application and infrastructure footprint and transform them into the cloud. 

I played an active role in the startup ecosystem in India and Australia to mentor technical founders on building robust and scalable solutions.


Describe your product. How does it work?

FlowTrack helps businesses to track what employees do during business hours. It helps to monitor employee activity on the keyboard and mouse to measure productivity and engagement levels on their systems. It also helps the managers track employees’ application and internet usage to generate productive Vs. unproductive insights. 




What are the key benefits?

FlowTrack helps businesses proactively identify disengaged employees and support them with mentoring and training and at the same time reward and recognize people who are highly efficient and meeting the organization's goals. 

FlowTrack helps businesses track digital asset movements and protect business-sensitive data and client intellectual property from misuse. It also identifies critical actions and sends alerts to managers.



Who are your closest competitors?

We compete with other productivity monitoring and insider threat detection platforms such as Teramind and Veriato.


Who is your first customer, and how did that happen? What were they using before this, and why did they switch? 

Our first client is an outsourcing and offshoring service provider based out of India
. Managing global client operations in its two offices with 24/7 support and remote working was a new thing to manage the operations effectively and deliver the same quality outcome. 

Assisting employees to maintain productivity and at the same time understanding the disengagement early to support and get the employees to stay engaged was the primary reason to deploy FlowTrack for their entire operations team.


What motivated you to start this business?

We were motivated by customer pain points and the opportunity we have seen in a pandemic. Emerging economies in Asia have a group-centric work culture where teaming is vital for every individual to deliver to their strength. With distributed work setup, group-centric work culture was challenged, and people were highly disengaged. Businesses needed to explore ways to manage employee efficiency and identify the disengagement early in the process to address them proactively. After our initial research and understanding, we quickly conceptualized the idea of FlowTrack. We launched the first version of the product in six weeks.




What is your biggest sacrifice to make this work?

More than myself individually, it’s my team who raised to the challenge and aligned to the vision of launching the product in the shortest amount of time. Many of us had very long evenings and weekends to get to where we are now, and we are proud of our achievement as a team.


How did you get funded?

FlowTrack is a bootstrapped venture and started having paid customers within the first month of the product launch.


What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Our most successful form of marketing is LinkedIn outreach and email marketing. 


Describe a typical workday

I start my day by reviewing campaign performance and refining the actions for the next iteration. Meeting my team on standup and understanding the progress, and sharing customer feedback is a regular activity. During the day, I participate in all customer demos and know why they are here to buy FlowTrack and what is the one thing that I need to add to the product roadmap for staying relevant in the market.


Who has been the greatest influence in your business and why?

Elon Musk and his traits in solving global problems that no one bets big on. 


What has been your proudest moment in the history of your business, and why?

My proudest moment was when we were confirmed for the workplace accelerator program in Singapore. Having launched FlowTrack for the Indian market, we wanted to grow the customer base in South East Asia. What can be better visibility than being part of an accelerator program right in Singapore? 


What is your favorite business failure (and what did you learn from it)?

I was spending so much on Ads on Google and Facebook without knowing where my customers are. I learned to try small and review the result before doubling our marketing expenses on any specific lead generation channel.


If you could go back in time to speak to your 20-year-old self, what would you tell him/her?

Take risks early in life when the commitments are low :-)


What’s one productivity hack you can’t live without?

Yoga or a morning meditation to set my priorities for the day.
