When it comes to recruiting, attracting talents isn’t really that difficult. The challenge is to identify who is the best one that you should hire.
And there can only be so much one can interpret based on a piece of resume. Moreover you are talking about content that the jobseeker wrote themselves. Obviously you can expect much self-praise and embellishment.
End of the day, employers just want to hire someone who can do the job. That is where Mettl comes into the picture.
1. Please share with us briefly what you do.
Going beyond simple questionnaire-based assessments, Mettl automatically evaluates candidates by having them work in real-life work situations they are likely to be in using simulators and emulators. These "real-life like" interactive assessment environments measure skills ranging from programming and design to business and functional problem-solving.
A huge advantage that Mettl offers is that the simulated assessments can be authored by Mettl or by the client through easy to use interfaces. In addition, the Mettl platform has both manual and automated proctoring capabilities, that allows clients to ensure the authenticity of an assessment in training, certification, and recruitment, even if the assessment is done remotely.
2. What were you doing before this?
I have worked for Talisma, American Express Indepay and isango! before starting up with Mettl, my earliest engagement before Mettl was from Dec 2007 - May 2010 where I was wearing multiple hats (as is always the case in a startup) - Business Development, Internet Marketing / Sales (PPC & Affiliate marketing) and Analytics.
3. In one sentence, how would you describe what your product does?
Mettl (www.mettl.com) is a performance-based talent measurement platform that allows companies to automatically assess knowledge-worker candidates in their effectiveness to perform tasks they have been trained for or are being certified/hired for.
4. How did the idea for your business come about?
Mettl helps its clients build winning teams. It is a talent measurement company which was founded in 2009 and started focusing on assessments exclusively in late 2010.
The company was established with an aim to raise the bar around skill assessments and capitalize on the underlying demand for recruiting and L&D solutions in the Indian corporate sector. The vision behind it was simple: to bring a technological and scientific revolution into the recruitment and L&D practices of both Indian as well as

Mettl’s online skill assessment platform facilitates advanced computer-based assessments for conducting high stake tests online and is used by the most technology-driven universities, corporations and certification bodies across the world. In addition, it also enables companies across multiple industries to conduct recruitment tests for candidates, assesses their hard skills, and evaluate their soft
skills through customized psychometric and aptitude tests to determine if they are the right hire.
In addition, Mettl’s online remote proctoring solution caters to two significant industries, education and recruiting. It allows companies and educational institutions to conduct examinations by transcending geographical limitations with live video monitoring to oversee candidates giving these tests. We also provide solutions to colleges, universities, and companies for campus hiring.
The Employability Test delivers precision in indicating job-role fitment for each candidate from our pre assessed pool of freshers which consists of high performing talent.

Our SaaS-based talent measurement platform offers recruitment and skill assessments solutions to help companies hire the right people for every role and level. Its predictive talent measurement approach focuses on research-backed assessments, efficient delivery on an innovative cloud platform, and in-depth analytics & data science.
Following several stages of R&D, we have developed five proprietary tools which back 200+ ready-to-use assessments and question banks for 800+ skills across industries and job roles. The testing platform offers globally integrated local solutions for efficient test delivery over the internet and even helps conduct offline assessments in remote locations with no internet access, through smart devices.

Nabler was our first customer, it came in as a reference from a friend of mine working for the company.
9. What were they using before this, and why did they switch?
They were not using any sort of assessments platform before this.
10. How do you price your product?
We price our offering per assessment content, and according to different product lines (Assessment, Proctoring, Platform)
11. What’s your business focus for this year?
We are in our growth stages, we aiming for expansion in nascent as well as international markets.
